SNEAK PREVIEW: NIX TOXIC'S 'TOXIC DEVIL DOG'

As you may already know, John Cafiero of Osaka Popstar contacted me last month and offered me the opportunity to be a part of the Osaka Popstar Devil Dog Art Show. The show opens on October 31, 2008 at The Showroom Gallery in New York...

However, I wanted to give everyone a sneak preview of my little devil (yay!)...

6" Limited Edition Devil Dog with Removable Pitchfork

(Before)

Customized to the core by your's truly...

WICKED POSE:

THE COY BOY:

BOOTY SHOT:

THE MASKED AVENGER:

THE ALL-IMPORTANT CUSTOM GAS MASK:
This mask (latex rubber) was actually cast from the blank Devil Dog ;-)

If you haven't already guessed, my inspiration for the 'Toxic Devil Dog' was a combination of passions. Astro Boy, vintage toys, a healthy dose of urban grit, and a gas mask make this little guy 100% Toxic. Gotta say... I love how he turned out!

SHOW INFORMATION

***IMPORTANT***

50% of the proceeds from the Devil Dog show will be donated to the Picasso Vet Fund...

About the Picasso Veterinary Fund: Traditionally, animals with extreme medical needs who are taken in by animal control shelters are euthanized because the funds needed to pay for extensive surgeries and other expensive treatment just haven't been available. But many of these animals would make wonderful, loving pets if only they had access to the medical treatment they need. The Picasso Veterinary Fund was created to give these animals the second chances they deserve. By paying for medical treatment that otherwise would not be available to them, the Fund is saving lives that in the past would have been lost.

Administered by the Mayor's Alliance for NYC's Animals, the Picasso Veterinary Fund pays for lifesaving medical treatment for sick and injured animals transferred from NYC's AC&C to other Alliance Participating Organizations (APOs) for adoption.

These animals get the veterinary care they need to get back on their feet, and then are put up for adoption when they are healthy enough to be placed in a good home. Since 2003, hundreds of dogs and cats have received medical treatment paid for by the Fund.
